The gay rights community is pushing back hard against the notion that same sex marriage will not affect anyone else. They are particularly pushing back hard on the idea that school children will be affected. We know this is not at all true. See my post on the California first grade class which was transported to a lesbian wedding, presumably at taxpayer expense to observe a “teachable moment” where the poster boy for gay rights, Gavin Newsom presided over the wedding. Below is a video of what has happened in MA after they had legalized genderless or gay marriage.
Here is a link chronicling the saga of the Parker family as their parental and religious rights have been trampled by the state as a direct result of mandated gay marriage by the MA supreme court. Think it won’t happen here in California? Think again. The status of the law now in California is that “sexual orientation” whatever that means, is now a constitutionally protected class. And, gay marriage, or as I like to call it “genderless marriage” is now a fundamental right in California. Armed with these newly judically created constitutional rights, it is not only foreseeable, but certain to happen here–give it time. MA is a wake up call for all parents, all families, and all those who still believe religious liberties deserve greater protection than so called “gay rights.”

Wow, such mis-information and fear. You people can continue paying our taxes – we have stopped until FULL equality.

Vote Yes on Prop 8!
I love the fact that you are getting so few comments on each of your posts, because to me, it means that very few people are reading the discrimination you are espousing.
Yes, I am an evangelical Christian, and my God, my Jesus, has taught to love my neighbor, and to take the plank out of my own eye before mentioning the dust in my brothers.
Please stop the hate. The legality of gay marriage has nothing to do with you. Please tell me how the marriage of two people who love each other, people I’m sure you don’t even know, affects the sanctity of your own marriage. If it is affecting your marriage, I suspect you’ve got more troubles going on that have nothing to do with your neighbor. If you are threatened by the love and marriage of others, there must be some issue or problem in your own marriage. The fact that Lisa and Bob next door, or Tom and Frank on the other side, are married has NOTHING to do with my marriage. My marriage is between my spouse and God and I – the neighbors have nothing to do with it.
You would do better for the world to focus on helping others, not in promoting discrimination and bring down others. Go back and read your New Testament, and take the words of Jesus to heart – love God and love they neighbor. You’ll notice that nowhere does Jesus set up tests or qualifications of who that neighbor is or how they should be living their life. It’s just love thy neighbor. Try it some time.
Apparently, “Evangelical Christian” has something in common with Ellen Degeneres.

How someone can deduce that defending traditional marriage has anything to do with hate or discrimination is beyond me. Marriage is defined as that between a man and a woman. Period.
BTW….”EC”, when gay activists start suing pastors for teaching the word of God, then you can start talking about hate.

Kids are being taught about gay marriage in our schools. This story is from today. WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT! It is exactly what the opposition told us would never happen, they are spending millions this week telling us it STILL won’t happen. This is the fight of our lives.
Protectmarriage.com’s bank account is empty, we need to make donations to respond to the lies the opposition is telling us.
see the story here: http://beetlebabee.wordpress.com/2008/10/23/its-gay-day-at-school-today-mommy
Parents of students attending an elementary school in Hayward, California, are in a frenzy after learning the school allegedly made no effort to inform them their children were to participate in today’s homosexual “Coming Out Day” school event, reports the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), a legal firm specializing in the defense of religious freedoms and parental rights.
Parents of children at Faith Ringgold School of Art and Science were shocked to see a poster announcing the homosexual event, as they had not received any previous notification. In fact, according PJI, the school specifically decided not to inform parents ahead of time.

Individuals with same sex attraction have no right to impose their moral views on our children. ESPECIALLY without our consent. It’s more than just “love” at stake here. I think it’s important to recognize the human rights of the children involved. France rejected same sex marriage because it trampled the rights that children have to a mother and a father. Their pursuit of self interest at all costs is selfish. Making our children be exposed to same sex marriage ideas corrupts their impressionable minds.
MONTREAL, March 20, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In late January, a 30 member parliamentary commission of the French National Assembly published a 453 page Report on the Family and the rights of Children, which rejected same-sex marriage.
DeSerres, told LifeSiteNews.com “Referring to the rights of children as a human rights issue, the report argued that children ‘now have rights and to systematically give preference to adult aspirations over respect for these rights is not possible any more.’”
In the report, the commission says that “the child represents the future of society.” The commission asks legislators to make sure that “children, confronted with mutations in family models, be fully taken into account and not suffer from situations imposed upon them by adults.” It adds: “The interest of the child must take precedence over adults’ exercise of their freedom (…) including with regards to parents’ lifestyle choices.”
